Safer recruitment

All staff and volunteers are appointed, trained, supported and supervised in line with government guidance on safe recruitment.

  • Written references obtained and verified before appointment
  • Safeguarding discussed at interview
  • Qualifications verified and a probationary period completed
  • Every staff member given our safeguarding policy
Training & development

Well-trained, well-supported staff.

In their first year, staff complete mandatory training in safer caring, safeguarding, positive behaviour, first aid, de-escalation, e-safety and more.

  • At least 25 hours of training every year
  • Ongoing programmes that improve outcomes for young people
  • Preparation for independent living, drug and health awareness
  • Delivered by our director and contracted specialists
